Fridge Art

Ode to Fridge Art!!

The gallery of the kitchen... The special place where all family eyes meet at least one a day. Let's celebrate the metal and magnet surface that embraces the scribbles, sketches and refined finished artwork made by family members.

Fridge Art... Is it an art "purgatory"? Or... is it a sacred place because of its predominate position and exposure within the house? Either way, the family fridge holds things that are usually urgent and important. It is the space... that's in your face.  All eyes here! Whether it is a photograph of puppy Tucker, a long awaited invitation to cousin Kim's wedding, or Stephen's crayon drawing of his dirtbike, the family fridge has a vital function. As it relates to saved artwork, how does it hold the stories? Is there discussion about this displayed work? Who decides what is hung on the fridge? How long does it stay there? Where does it go afterwards?
